Why am I going to a Chiropractor?
Hi, I'm Jess.I have joined Chiro.London to help with their marketing and events. Knowing nothing about what Chiropractors do (backs?!), I thought I should probably have a few sessions to find out what they do.Until about two months ago I've never had any problem with my back, however within weeks of one another I hurt my back and then my neck. Both were in the gym where I was trying to lift more than I could, whilst tired, in a group of boys trying to compete with them. I was never going to win.
It's only when you hurt yourself that you fully appreciate what it's like to be well.
It's fair to say I was pretty miserable. I had a couple of sports massages which helped ease the pain enough to work out but then as soon as I relaxed it would seize up again. Fortunately over a couple of weeks they both healed, though they did reignite a previous neck injury I had from waterskiing about 10 years ago. I can look over my left shoulder, but not my right (not ideal for driving or cycling!).Other reasons I am keen to see a Chiropractor are; I like to keep fit and in shape so I'm hoping it might help prevent more injuries, from my understanding Chiropractic care isn't just about back pain, it's also about all over wellbeing. I also walk past Putney Chiropractic every day and have been intrigued as to what happens there.Over the next couple of weeks I'll be blogging about My Chiropractic Journey (highs and lows) in the quest to have a healthy spine. Why I am going to a Chiropractor? from Jessica Rees on Vimeo.
