Monday Motivation - April 1st
Good morning and happy April!
Half-term is here for some, and I’m already hearing whispers of summer just around the corner… Changes to your regular schedule can be a great opportunity to recharge the batteries and check-in to see if you're on track to create a year to be proud of. There’s a good chance you have a to-do list full of stuff that you think you “should” do and “I’ll feel better having done it” – sound familiar? Perhaps now is a good time to go over it and decide if everything on there really needs to be there at all?! Maybe there’s a reason some of those things haven’t been done yet.
Take five minutes (over a coffee...) to decide what’s important, what’s urgent, what can be delegated and what you’ll commit to chipping away at yourself… Is there anything you can tackle in small bites over the next few weeks that you’ll be happy to have done?
For example, I have a bunch of books that I’ve been meaning to read but I always seem to find an excuse not to start. However, recently I committed to reading one chapter a day of the most daunting of books and I know it’ll be “done” in a few weeks – turns out it’s not so bad, either! (It’s The Personal MBA by Josh Kaufman.)
Sustainable living doesn’t have to be expensive (often it’s cheaper!) and is usually far easier than you think. Here’s a great little read to get started.
Entertaining the kids at half-term…. maybe with a good old-fashioned game of Jenga? Check out how MIT engineered a robot to dominate the blocks!
Struggling to find an hour to go to the gym? No worries, here’s the Scientific 7-Minute Workout which you can do in the comfort of your home.
I tried to keep this one short and sweet, because hopefully we’ll have another guest editor next week for you all to meet!
