Cycling workshop June 2019

Our cycling (semi) pro Craig McLean invited his coaches up to hold a presentation at Ground Coffee Society, over the road from Putney Chiropractic. They brought the lab to us and actually performed a MAP test (also known as a VO2 max test) on Chris, one of the coaches. Conor, Alex (exercise physiologists and coaches) and Chris (the coach and an elite level cyclist for 35 years) presented loads of information about training plans, testing your level of performance and trying different ways to build on it. The importance of rest and recovery were also discussed.

Plenty of information about TSS (training stress score) and CTL (Chronic training load) were discussed. In a nutshell, training should be tailored to the individual, but consist of plenty of zone 1/2 recovery time rides and threshold challenging sessions to push the upper limits of your performance.
