Monday Motivation - February 10th
Good morning everyone,
In the last 126 editions of Monday Motivation, we’ve shared loads of information focusing mainly on health improvement, with the odd piece of humour or random fact. Most of our sources are external ones and include everything from news sites, to podcasts, to exercise apps.
This week, I wanted to shine a light on our own growing body of information. Recently we started putting together a knowledge bank to help you through some of the jargon you may have heard us chiropractors use and thought, “Well, what does that mean?” If you have any more terms you’d like explanations for, please do send your suggestions to add to this collection, so we can grow it to become a useful way to understand more about your spine and health.
We also have an extensive collection of health-based, lifestyle pieces written by our very own Docs, right here on our Chiro.London website blog. Here are a few of my recent favourites:
Valentine’s Day is fast approaching, and Erana investigates what can you do to keep your heart healthy.
Remember all that talk a little while ago about barefoot shoes and barefoot running? You may have noticed the barefoot shoe has had a much-needed makeover and is now available in a fairly normal-looking shoe. Brad takes a look at how and when to wear them.
Mental health is not a taboo subject anymore, and some may find their mental state worsens in the colder months. Michael suggests what you can do to keep positive this winter.
Children’s posture is becoming one of the biggest health challenges for the next generation due to less movement and more tech use. Ami-Bree shows us what good posture should look like and also looks at what happens to children’s development and concentration when they don’t get enough movement in their daily lives.
While we’re discussing the pitfalls of tech use and sedentary lifestyles, Brad aims to help by enhancing your office desk routine.
Gut health is about more than just good digestion, and Ami-Bree examines the difference between prebiotics and probiotics and how they can benefit your health.
Did you know I also wrote an eBook last year titled “Healthy Back, Better Posture”? It’s free to download here and contains some great info, stats and exercises. Please feel free to share it with friends and family who you think might need some help.
And lastly, if all this reading makes you a little sleepy, here’s a great (external) summary on the art of the nap. Who knew there were so many different types of naps, at different times of the day, all having different benefits?!
Happy reading!
Craig
