Mindful Monday - June 29th

Hello, good morning, top of the day to you!

Monday is here, so is summer, some schools are off (were they even "on"!?), work is back for some and life is still finding a way.

This week I'm keeping it super simple with a few things I've been loving, using, reading, listening to, and doing…Honey

Nope, not the edible kind of honey. This Honey browser extension automatically finds you discount codes for online purchases. I've been testing this for a couple of months now and it's saved me loads. And it's free.

Kettlebells

Still on these. After a few weeks of increasing the weights and reps, I've noticed my lower back is significantly stronger and survives long bike rides without aching. Of course, they need to be done safely and with good form, so make sure to ask your chiro or PT for their advice (or start here).

Parasite

I finally got around to watching this Oscar-winning Best Picture. It's truly brilliant. Funny, touching, beautifully shot and, at times, brutal. South Korean cinema definitely has a new fan in me.

The Climb

This short film (7 mins) had me laughing a lot. Two friends riding up a mountain. One is seriously into cycling, the other is not. One has a secret he has to get off his chest. I've watched it 3 times.

13 Minutes to the Moon - Season 2

This podcast’s first season is a must-listen, as it explores the stories behind the story of Apollo 11 landing on the moon. Season 2 uncovers all the people and moving parts that lead to Apollo 13 narrowly averting disaster and successfully bringing the crew home, albeit without setting foot on the lunar surface. Gripping.

Returning to work blueprint

This great short piece (2 mins) gives some practical advice on how to best return to work. Take 2 minutes, grab a pen, paper and a cup of tea. Develop your plan. (I'm still loving these guys' supplements BTW.)

Lastly, here's a quote for your week:

“I can't give you a sure-fire formula for success, but I can give you a formula for failure: try to please everybody all the time.”

- Herbert Bayard Swope

Right on.

Big love to you guys,
