Mindful Monday - February 15th

Hi guys,

How are you? Doing ok? Reach out if you're not, we're here to help.

We've ticked over the ‘halfway through February’ mark and I have to admit, there have been times I've fallen into the ‘counting down the days’ mindset. I just want normal back.

And then I remind myself that this is our life right now. Not yesterday, not tomorrow, but today – now. Now is all we have and if we're not living now, then when are we in fact going to live? Often, but not always, this spurs me back into the present and I notice the simple, everyday delights that remain available and this – I remind myself – is in fact life, now.

Here are a few little things that helped remind me to smile, to live and be grateful this week. I hope you like them, too.

Asking for help
The past few weeks have thrown up some pretty big challenges that I've lost some sleep over. I felt completely overwhelmed. I usually adopt an "I don't want to bother anyone else with this" mentality and, as a result, try to deal with it myself. Recently, however, I reached out to friends and colleagues who have been only too willing and able to help, I almost wanted to cry. It's been a massive reminder that it's ok to be vulnerable and to ask for help – it'll most likely turn into something positive.

Thanks guys, you know who you are.

Regrets, I have a few...
This is a beautiful short film showing people writing their biggest regrets on a board in NYC. Most regrets were "not doing...", "not saying...", and "not following...".

Let this be a lovely little reminder that life doesn't wait and is what you make it.

Weetabix and, errrr... beans?!
Weetabix nearly broke Twitter when it suggested their namesake cereal might pair well with baked beans. Read here for the brilliant comments that ensued – the NHS response is definitely my favourite.

Walking better
A couple of clients this week mentioned that, according to their iPhone, they're walking better after receiving a course of chiropractic care. Apparently the recently-updated Apple Health app has a gait analysis that approximates evenness of walking. While this is not an official claim by chiropractors, it has certainly been reported by countless clients.

Is China building a time machine?
For obvious reasons, I kind of hope so. Unfortunately, China has officially rebuked the claim that they're involved in a private start-up that aims to build a portal through time, but hey, it's 2021 and anything goes, right?!
