Mindful Monday - May 30th
Good morning, Team Mindful Monday!
It's hard to be above average if you can't find a way to do the same thing over and over again.
“I fear not the man who has practiced 10,000 kicks once, but I fear the man who has practiced one kick 10,000 times.”
– Bruce Lee
Cheers, Brucey. Kick away, my friend.
What have you practiced 10,000 times? What do you love enough to make such a commitment to mastery? Imagine if you spent an hour a day practicing or learning about something; after a year you’d be 365 hours the wiser and/or more skilled. That’s a lot of hours.
What would you like to be better at?

New senses
As humans, we are somewhat limited by our physiology to less than a ten-trillionth of all light waves – quite the blinkers we have! Neuroscientist David Eagleman is looking to change that by creating new technology to open up our senses to previously unseen information about the world around us. Take a look here.
Life after death
Ok, I’m talking more circle of life-type vibes, not in the esoteric sense. The clever group over at Loop have designed a coffin that grows (yep, grows!) from mycelium from the earth, which then returns the body to the earth naturally. Learn more here – it’s rather beautiful.
Urban gardens
Gardening to save lives. Hortas Cariocas is an urban garden project in Rio de Janeiro that not only provides food to local residents, but gives people a sense of purpose. With 55 gardens already on the go, there are plans to build what will be the biggest community garden in Latin America. Time to get some hands dirty! There are good things happening out there.
Have a wonderful week and give yourself permission to start something.
Big love,
Luke
