Mindful Monday - May 31st
Good morning and welcome back to another edition of Mindful Monday - the last one for the glorious month of May!
For many of us the year is rolling along very quickly, in spite of the obvious ongoing challenges that seem to be in a constant state of flux. A bit like life, really.
Goal setting, hopes, dreams and expectations have taken a bit of a hammering this past 18 months. What “success” looks like has also changed dramatically for many, as the divide between thrive and survive narrowed somewhat. Surviving another day or week in business (or family life) sometimes feels like a massive victory, yet so much that we hope for still seems so far away that it can feel like a loss or failure.
Giving ourselves permission to gauge our achievements and survival in a broader perspective may be the key to staying on track, remaining hopeful in times of despair, and putting one foot in front of the other.
When/if we’re able to look back on this time in a decade or so, I remain optimistic that what seemed like crazy hard times and tragic dips will ultimately have turned, taught us lessons, fortified us against future misgivings and eventually have made us better.
One foot in front of the other…
Zoom calls on steroids
Google has dropped a preview of how it sees the future of video calls. Holograms. Yep, all those science fiction movies with floating hologram talking heads are gonna be a real thing. Is this a positive to come out of Covid?
Wooden maps
Travel. Yep, I miss it too. Maps can not only help fill the current travel void but inspire dreams of future trips to enjoy. These guys are pumping out 3D Wooden Maps that light up your walls and hopes of adventure! Very cool and timely.
Dear Bill & Melinda
The end of the road was reached by this most famous couple and has led to an outpouring of affection and opinions. The New Yorker printed this hilarious “Dear Bill and/or Melinda” letter that is currently doing the rounds. Enjoy.
Aaaaaannnnd…. snap!
