Thoughtful Thursday - July 1st

Greetings from sunny Cornwall! Bit of a working holiday for me but has been nice to work from a new space, which I highly recommend. So will keep this week’s one short and sharp!

Clinic Updates
As we have hit peak summer, practitioner schedules are a bit all over the shop as they pinch well-earned breaks. Would certainly encourage y’all to confirm recommendations (both for your care and for anywhere they should go while they are off!) and get yourselves booked in for while they are away (if recommended) and for when they are back, as they are crazy busy! The front desk will remind you of this, so you don’t miss out.

Holidays & Changes
Tooting: Michael is currently taking a well-earned break and is back on July 20th. Erana is also disappearing the week of July 12th and returns on the 19th.
Kew: Brad is attending a chiro conference on July 16th and 17th, so will be working Sunday 18th instead.
Fulham: Mike is pinching a long weekend from July 2nd and back on the 6th; he will also be working Tuesday–Saturday for all of July. Silva is off July 21st and back on the 27th.
Marylebone: Filippo is off from July 14th and back on the 21st.
Putney: Craig is off from July 10th and back at some point in August, and it looks like he has secured the amazing Don Murray to cover for him while he is away! (If you know, you know. 😉) Sorry to all of you who expected it to be Luke B!

Vertebra of the Week
We’ve reached the pointy end of Michael’s tour of your spine, and there are just two parts left to discover. So without further ado, let us introduce you to the penultimate segment:

Sacrum
This is the one part that has to hold the weight of your entire spine and all your upper body, which accounts for 75% of your body weight! What is it? Why does it look different to the rest of the spine?

Well, we know it is a bone. Actually, it's five bones that are fused together to create this long-ish bone in the middle of your pelvis.

The sacrum regulates the motion between your pelvis and spine when you walk, run and jump, and it can cause a lot of people trouble. Many people talk about "hip pain" and point to this area on the back – it is actually the sacrum, as the hip joint sits in your groin. The nerves from this area also connect to your reproductive organs and anus. So all in all, a pretty important joint not to neglect!

Shameless Plug of the Week
‘Refer a Friend’ is changing – time is running out!

Our current ‘Refer a Friend’ offering of 50% off an initial consultation for whomever you refer in, and scores you 50% off your next visit, will be changing from Monday, July 12th.

From that date onwards, we will be offering £20 off a chiropractic initial consultation and £20 off your next treatment at your next visit instead. (All the same T&Cs will apply.)

So if you would like to snag a bargain before we change it to being something a bit more sensible, send in anyone you think may need our help! Provided they have called us to book by Sunday, July 11th and have a date in the diary, we will still honour this for you.

Will give you all a lil nudge again next week. Until then, any recommendations for Cornwall are always welcome, and I might even compile Drew’s Guide to Falmouth for next week’s issue!

Cheers,
Drew
