What defines true health?
Dr Michael Lezuo asked himself the question What defines true health? Here’s his answer...The human body is designed to function at its best capacity. Your mind and your body’s NATURAL STATE is true health! Some principles I truly believe in are: Health IS completely normal! YOU are a self-healing and self-regulating organism. We can see this in the fact that your digestion, heart rate andhormone production occurs without you being aware of it. Also your body will just repair cuts and be busy healing you and keeping you as close to the optimal performance as it is possible.I am FEELING great! For most people true health is defined by not feeling bad and therefore feeling good. Many use this as an indicator of their health, but unfortunately this does not reflect your health. Most diseases do not show any symptoms until very late in the disease process!Let’s think of high blood pressure. You might not be aware of having high blood pressure, but slowly you will put too much stress on your arteries until something might happen unless it is detected on a check-up!Or let’s say for example you eat some spoiled food. This will most likely make you feel sick, give you stomach cramps, maybe even vomit. You will certainly feel sick and not healthy, but thankfully your body is functioning optimally to get rid of the effects. Imagine now if you would take a drug to stop the stomach cramps and the vomiting and you would force the body to retain the toxic food?!Am I FUNCTIONING great?!The one thing that controls everything is your nervous system with your brain, spinal cord and all of the nerves. It is connected to EVERYTHING, every gland, every organ, every tissue, every cell and even every individual system (like the immune system!). All will obey the commands of the brain. On this note it becomes logical that it becomes obvious that true health can be expressed if the nervous system is able to manage and communicate with every part of the body well. And that is why vertebral subluxations are so serious!A vertebral subluxation is a fancy medical term for saying if a vertebra is out of alignment or does not move as it should. What that does is it will put pressure on the nervous system and the nerve exiting at that level. This in turn will shut down the connection between the brain and the tissue, muscle and organ this nerve goes to. The brain will have to imagine what is happening instead of actually seeing it. And this is why so often things go wrong. So many people walk around with subluxations without knowing as they DO NOT produce symptoms! This is why it is so important to go to a chiropractor and get your spine checked regularly!Subluxations cause problems in the brain-to-body or body-to-brain communication. What a lot of our clients discover is that as their spinal problems start to improve other health problems resolve just by having chiropractic care. And this works because it restores this communication again and the body is able to heal itself and perform at the best level possible.
