Monday Motivation - July 15th
Good morning and happy summer holidays!
For some, summer is a time for slowing down, rejuvenating and generally chilling out, while for others it's a time for exploring and having new adventures. Here are some of my favourite things that I hope you can enjoy whichever camp you fall into.
Whether it's lying by a pool, on a beach or sitting around a camp fire, being totally immersed in a great book is one of life's simple pleasures. Here's a thoughtful list of Books for the Ages (by the ages) - something for everyone.
And here's a wonderful article (6 mins) about the benefits of reading everyday - go on, pick up a book!
If you are tempted to head off the beaten track in search of adventure, you'll probably want the best tent ever - enter Rhinowolf. These amazing tents are, in fact, a tent, sleeping mat and sleeping bag all in one tiny package AND have one of the best adverts (3:20 min) I've seen since, well, they did their first one a couple of years ago!
This is one I've mentioned before but it's totally worth another shout out: the one, the only TRTL Neck pillow! I've not been on a long haul flight without this little beauty for years, well worth the £25.
Perhaps this isn't a time of holiday or travel for you, or maybe you're still in the early planning stages of your next adventure, but here are some people doing pretty cool stuff that may prompt you to think a bit beyond your normal limits:
Kilian Jornet - adventurer runner
Josh Ibbett - bike explorer
Jesse "I'm just trying to get you off the couch" Carlsson - bike explorer
And here's an example of what not to do - these two are basically trying to crowd fund their holiday... I guess it's worth a try!?
Whatever you end up doing this summer…
Have fun. Stay hydrated. Be kind. Try something new. Revisit an old favourite. Eat an apple. Move! Turn off the alarm. Tell someone you love them.
Peace,
Luke X
