Thoughtful Thursday - May 14th
Hello and happy Thoughtful Thursday to you all!
I'm back with a few of my favourite things that I've been enjoying recently…
Eating
I've been experimenting with two supplements from Form Nutrition recently, one for improving my sleep and the other for clearer thinking. Zzzzs Nootropic for Sleep made an obvious difference after the first night. I had vivid dreams that I could actually recount in the morning. Considering I don't usually remember dreaming, let alone the dreams themselves, this seemed like a significant shift for me. I've been using these for six weeks.
The other supplement is Edge Nootropic for clearer thinking. I've only been experimenting with these for a couple of weeks but have noticed I'm better at organising my tasks in my mind. Sounds weird, I know, but I feel like I'm better at finishing a train of thought before starting a new one. I'm also writing down more ideas and tasks. Now, whether this is down to these magic pills or just me being more aware of my thinking, I don't know. Either way, there's been a shift for the better.
Exercise
I've been running every day (well, nearly...). Sometimes for an hour. Sometimes more. Sometimes less.
To help me stay present, I've been taking at least one photo and adding it to my Strava feed. This is also an attempt at being creative in some small way – I’m enjoying it.
Can you add something creative to your exercise routine?
Listening
I can't quite get enough of the Unknown Mortal Orchestra at the moment. Uplifting, smooth summer sounds that are a joy to have stuck in your head. Favourites include:
Honeybee - catchy
So Good At Being in Trouble - reminds me of my kitten, lol
Multi-Love – loud!
This episode of Rich Roll interviewing Kamal Ravikant discussing his new book Love Yourself Like Your Life Depends On It. Great interview. Great book. Great message.
Reading
Naturally, Love Yourself Like Your Life Depends On It. A zero BS practical guide to help you develop thinking patterns that serve you (and others) better. That's it. You can easily knock this book over in an afternoon or listen to Kamal's interview with RR (above) to get some key ideas to put into action immediately.Love yourself, you deserve it.
Watching
My new favourite show is Succession (as recommended to me by our very own online guru Tommy Tonkins). Uber-wealthy family battling it out for who takes over the company when their ailing father steps down. Also, it has the best theme music I've heard for a long time.
The Last Dance. I grew up in the era of Michael Jordan and the Chicago Bulls being the most famous and successful team and players on the planet. This 10-part documentary series goes behind the scenes of their last Championship-winning season in the hope of discovering how they held it together for a sixth title. So many lessons here for sport, business, family and life. And to finish with a quote…
“All of our miseries are nothing but attachment.”

Woah, thanks Osho. Love you guys. Stay special,
