Mindful Monday - September 7th
Hi guys and happy Mindful Monday to you all!
School's back, half term must be close, the sun is setting a wee bit earlier and the smell of woodfire can't be far away. I love this time of the year, what a beautiful change of the seasons.
What are some of your favourite things about this time of the year?
Garden to table
I'm definitely not a "green thumb" but I do love spending time in gardens and I'm always fascinated by people who know so much about plants, especially the edible ones! This is a great little read to help you sort out what's what on the herb front in your garden.
Coffee or leather?
Is there anything coffee can't do!? Following on from last week’s sustainable Thoughtful Thursday, it turns out one of the world’s most drunk drinks can also be used as leather. Yep, for real. (Well, not real, obviously, but you know what I mean.) Check it out here. From all the animals out there: "Thank you, coffee!"
Paint it black
While we're on the ‘saving animals’ vibe, some clever souls figured out how to help prevent birds from flying into wind turbines – yeah, it's a pretty big problem actually. Apparently painting the blades a different colour reduces the number of blitzed birds by 70%. From all the birds out there: "Thank you, paint!"
Maths homework
Most kids are back to school by now, and although the homeschooling thing has wound up for many, there may still be the odd tricky maths problem that you need to check. Google can help with its homework lens... Thanks, Google!
Neuro stuff
We chiros are always harping on about the importance of having a healthy spine and nervous system. If you'd like to dig a little deeper and learn more about how your brain and nervous system monitors and controls your health, check out Andrew Huberman on Insta for excellent short lessons that will arm you with loads of important info to help you understand how it all works.
“Stress is doing something you don’t care about with time that you do.”
Right on, Dave. Love your jeans too, btw... thank you.
Love you guys,
