Global events over the past few weeks have highlighted some of the worst aspects of humanity, there’s no denying it. Thankfully, in dark moments great people step up and do great things.

Does intelligent life exist elsewhere?
To be honest, I often find myself considering that intelligent life on this planet is rare let alone anywhere else… However, the idea that life exists “out there” has had great minds guessing for decades and lead to many different hypotheses, like the Fermi Paradox. This most recent study applies a lot of maths, biology and probability, and comes to the conclusion that we are the sum of more than a few lottery winning-like conditions; we are the miracle. Something to take heart in.

Surviving the clocks
Time travel is tough, but common. Twice every year, people in 74 countries move backwards and forwards in time as daylight saving kicks in, and it takes a toll. Our circadian rhythm is intricately linked to oh so many of our body’s functions and being thrown off by even an hour can wreak havoc.
Thankfully, there are strategies we can employ to help minimise the impact. Things like changing your bedtime and wake-up time incrementally, adjusting your eating habits, and getting more sunlight all help for a smoother transition. Read all about it here.
