Thoughtful Thursday - July 15th
Another long one with some important clinic updates!
Clinic Updates
With BoJo opening the floodgates next week, our regulatory board has advised that we continue to require the wearing of masks, temperature checks and handwashing in order to be seen in clinic.
Suspect some people may be unhappy with this but feel like we have a good crowd coming to see us. I am hoping everyone will be pretty chill about it for the time being to ensure everyone feels comfortable attending clinic and that it doesn’t get super awkward for the front of house team (whose willingness to help out during the crazy has been absolutely first rate – well done team!)
Fulham
Well, the move is on – I am actually writing this from the peaceful surrounds of the new site at Marvic House and Team Fulham are looking forward to inviting you all to jump on the tables here from Tuesday, July 27th (barring a total disaster!).
You can find details on how to get between the sites here.
The current location on Wandsworth Bridge Road will be manned (in case you head to the wrong place), and we will also be operating Massage & Sports Therapy out of there, potentially starting the same week we move out…
Massage & Sports Therapy
Have been a bit tied up at the new site to have it all sorted, but we will have more details in next week’s newsletter, plus an offer for you all for a treat for Massage and Sports Therapy. (I know I promised one this week – sorry, I am just the worst! I will have one for you next week for sure, just need to confirm some dates and round off the team.)
More good news: we will be adding female therapists to our Kew and WBR teams and look likely to have some lovely relaxing Swedish massage going on, as well as the more intense stuff. We hope it will be worth the wait!
Farewell Zara
Zara from Tooting is with us for just 10 more days before she ventures off to Boston. Her last day is Sunday, July 25th, and she is pretty full so do get in quick!
Amy-Lou and Sydney will be floating around the clinic to help make the changeover to your care as seamless as possible, so do say hello! Michael and Erana are available as always to look after you as well, once Zara bounces. Zara, Kate, Matilda, Megan and Pearl would be only too happy to help you work out who is best to carry on with once she leaves.
Holidays & Changes
Tooting: Michael and Erana are back next week (and are pretty full!). Again, Zara will be abandoning us on Sunday 25th.
Kew: Brad has tweaked his days on 16th and 17th July to get to a chiro conference so will be working Sunday 18th instead.
Fulham: Silva pinching a week off before we move, so will be away from July 21st and back on the 27th in our shiny new site!
Marylebone: Filippo is off at the moment and back on July 21st.
Putney: Bryan is in clinic until Friday 23rd and back in on Monday, August 2nd. Craig is off and back at some point in August with Don Murray in the house, along with our normal crew, to help you while they are off.
Vertebra of the Week
Will be back next week – there was a lot this week!
Shameless Plug of the Week
Had some good tips passed on to me last week while I was in Cornwall. Thanks for getting in touch, was really helpful! So while we wait for Fulham and Massage to be sorted, here’s my guide to Falmouth.
Chiropractic: LivingRoom Chiropractic. Simon is absolutely fantastic, it’s a great lil’ clinic and I hear he distils a cracking gin… if one was so inclined.
Coffee: Beacon. Consistently great, nice staff, and good selection of guest beans.
Sunday Roast: Star & Garter. All kinds of deliciousness, regardless of meal choice (but the roast beef was a standout). Make a booking early to avoid missing out.
Biggest surprise: Café Strand for Friday night ramen. An Aussie and a Northerner, in a little all-day café, making the most shockingly incredible ramen from scratch. Had to go twice because we couldn’t believe it. Incredibly surprising and well worth a visit.
Breakfast: Sam’s at Royal Cornwall Yacht Club. Controversial, but they do a cracking breakfast bap with a side of incredible views of the harbour. Great way to start the day.
Seafood: The Verdant Seafood Bar had a big reputation that was warranted – delicious small plates of seafood and great beer to wash it down with. One of the few places to accept walk-ins. If you want a more traditional, seaside experience, head to Swanpool Beach and Hooked on the Rocks for an indulgent seafood feast.
Drinks: The Underland Bar is a sunny little courtyard at the quiet end of town, just perfect for a cheeky afternoon beverage. Beerwolf Books is, you guessed it, a bar in a bookshop. Or a bookshop in a bar. Either way, it’s the perfect spot to while away the hours if the weather turns rainy.
Other notable mentions: Bango Kitchen for their exceptional bao buns and daily specials; Meat Counter for their dirty burgers and chicken dippers; the bagels at Provedore (particularly the salt beef and the chorizo breakfast bagels).
Disagree? Get in touch! Craig and Erana currently seeking rec’s for down there as well, so the more tips, the merrier.
That is me done for another week of crazy. Hopefully we will have a lot more set in stone for you next week. As always, any questions (or concerns) regarding the change of premises, massage, or clinic protocols, please do get in touch. Happy to keep you updated.
Cheers,
Drew
