Thoughtful Thursday - May 27th
A very Fulham-flavoured Thoughtful Thursday for y’all this week… We have a few more boring clinic updates, the pod is on sabbatical, Michael’s spine series starts a new region, and we’re shamelessly plugging some very cool and underrated inspiration and artwork from one of Team Fully.
Clinic Updates
The finish line is in sight for Sammy, with her last day being Thursday, June 3rd. Unfortunately, if you haven’t booked to see her yet, you have probably missed the boat. At time of writing (on Tuesday), she only had 3 slots left between now and next week. Rest assured, Mike, Silva and Michael will be more than happy to help you out.
We want to ensure you can carry on getting looked after once she is gone with minimal disruption, so do have a chat to Laura and Bailey and they will get you in with someone they think will be a good fit.
Again, don’t be shy, do get in touch fulham@chiro.london if you have any questions or concerns.

Vertebra of the Week
Last week we finally finished the thoracic region, so now it’s time to get to know a new part of your spine as Michael introduces us to the lumbar vertebrae. First up is, you guessed it -
L1
L1 stands for Lumbar 1 as it is the first vertebra in the lumbar series. It is the smallest of the five lumbar vertebrae, and also has the smallest disc in comparison to the others. As we progress further down the lumbar spine both the vertebrae and the discs will increase in size as they need to carry more weight.
The nerves from the L1 area supply the large intestine, which is important for water absorption in the digestion process.
Dysfunctioning nerves in this area could lead to problems when going to the bathroom, such as constipation or diarrhoea. If not seen to, this could lead to colitis or dysentery, or potentially even hernias due to straining.
Shameless Plug of the Week
If you’ve visited our Fulham clinic, you’ll have seen the glass board overlooking the reception desk and its amazing, ever-changing artwork. This artwork is courtesy of none other than one of Team Fulham’s CAs, Bailey!
Each week, Bailey has been designing her board art around Michael’s Vertebra of the Week. Those of you who follow us on our social channels may have seen these already, but if not, they are well worth checking out because:
a) They are awesome
b) You can do some learning!
If you think these are as awesome as we do and would like a super niche Bailey Original Board™ (or maybe some other artwork!), feel free to email her in the clinic at Fulham so she can share some of her magic in your world.
That’s it for yet another week – see you in June!!! (Also – can you believe it is JUNE next week?!)
Cheers,
Drew
