Thoughtful Thursday - November 4th

Another month down and closing in on… do I use the C-word? Seven-and-a-bit weeks to CHRISTMAS! A few reminders, some updates and given the weather is cooling off, our guide to the best coffee shops to curl up in.

Clinic updates
Thank you to everyone for being cautious by contacting us and rescheduling if you or anyone in your household/office has been dealing with the other C-word. We have been really grateful for the respect shown to us by everyone regarding this, along with everyone continuing to wear masks into clinic which, as a medical facility, we are still mandated to.

We’ll start with the bad news… Brad will not be returning to team Kew from his sabbatical back in South Africa. Thanks for your help over the last couple of years at a few of our clinics! Paul and Gopal have tweaked their hours to look after anyone who was waiting on Brad to return. We can also set you up at one of our alternate clinics if that would suit better. Please just speak to Kayleigh, Harpreet and Andrea.

In great news, we have had some wonderful new people join our front desk teams. Niamh has joined the TootToot team, and Rhys is well entrenched in Putney.

Practitioner holidays
Tooting: Closed Sun November 7th and Sunday 28th
Kew: Business as usual with a new timetable and no Brad ☹
Fulham Chiro: Silva is off next week and back on Thursday 11th
Fulham Massage: Alex, Clea and Robyn in as normal
Marylebone: Business as usual
Putney: Business as usual

Christmas hours will be posted in next month’s newsletter and in our social channels.

The Pod
The Pod, proudly brought to you by Ground Coffee Society, had a couple of episodes last month for those who missed them…

Craig has featured a couple of interesting cycle-centric guests, including author Phil Cavell from CycleFit and a review of his book The Midlife Cyclist, and Guy Pearson of THE Pearson Cycles.

Local legend Tom Mackay also gets a follow-up on his challenge to complete the London Marathon in under 2.5 hours.

Tune in here to find out how he did, or pop along to Spotify, Apple and Google to listen to any and all episodes.

Shameless Plug
Hope you all enjoyed last month’s takeover from Harpreet about thegoodlife.bike. This month, we’ve asked the heads of clinics for their fave places close to your clinic to curl up from the cold with a great cup of coffee and a book (or a sweet newsletter!)

Tooting
We wanted to give a shout-out to the amazing team at Juliet's Quality Foods for keeping our Tooting team running. They have amazing coffee (from The Barn Berlin) and they have unique and special food – the sort of food you don't find at your regular local where nearly every dish is a highlight (waffles on weekends are our tip!). And the staff are simply brilliant, really creating a ‘one in a café’ experience!

Putney
It’s 79 Collective and Smugglers Café for us! 79 Collective across the street is extremely conscious of the environmental impact of their business and you can find lots of yummy things, all of which are AWESOME! 79 also serve up our all-time fave coffee from Ground Coffee Society. (Hint: they also have an incredible new site in Ealing which is worth checking out!).

Meanwhile Smugglers is a great place to chill with its relaxed seaside vibe, homely feel and possibly the best bagel in Putney!
– Katie

Kew
The Kew team are proudly fuelled by Coffeeology in Richmond. It’s a cute lil café (with sister locations in Chiswick, Brentford and Park Royal) where you can always find great coffee, nice people and arguably the best blackboards in London!
– Kayleigh

Marylebone
Borough Barista is still closed :( so we have been spending more time at Daisy Green. A classic Aussie-style café with lots of nice, quiet places to sit and drink lovely coffee. The menu has a few random surprises in it, as well as some brunch classics, plus LOADS of lamingtons! And if you’re not near Marylebone, they have several locations across London – including one on a BOAT!
– Tom

Fulham
We have all been greatly enjoying the extra variety we can get in our new house and are still settling on a favourite… While there are still some differing opinions, our top three (in no particular order) are Naïve and Rondor (as HIGHLY recommended by Absolute Studios) in Parsons Green and Shot Espresso at Fulham Broadway. Ask us when you are in to see who likes what, or feel free to offer your own recommendations as we love to compare notes and try new things!
– Laura

I don’t know about you, but I think it must be time for a coffee! (Special shout-out to Tinto in Fulham and Level Crossing Records in Sheen for my part.)

Fingers crossed for a blip-free run into Christmas, see you all then 😊.

Drew
