Monday Motivation - March 4th
Hi everyone,
Just back from a short break in Spain where I was training with the amateur racing team I ride for. If you’re keen to see what we’ve been up to, check them out on Instagram and give them a follow.
Staying on the topic of cycling, I listened to a new cool podcast while away by Dr Rangan Chatterjee. Our newest chiro in Kew, Gopal, went to his latest book signing and caught a cool selfie with the wellness doc/GP. The episode I listened to was an interview with Chris Boardman, the Olympic gold medallist-turned-City of Manchester Town Planner. The mind-blowing stat they discussed was one-third of all car journeys in Manchester (where there are 230 million per year) are less than 1km! He is fighting to change people’s habits, move more, and feel safer doing it, with the aim of improving health in the long run.
Great to see a glowing review by a journo from The Telegraph about her experience visiting a London chiropractor. Read how it helped Judith Woods here.
How many push-ups can you do in one go? I found a cool article about the benefits for men who can do at least 40 push-ups (hint: they’re less likely to develop heart disease).
Fancy challenging yourself in the genius quiz my son Lachie tested me on recently? Be careful, it’s full of trick questions! You’ll be happy to hear I did beat my 11-year-old, but only just!
And lastly: back pain, golf and Tiger Woods. Here is a great article about why golfers, especially in recent times, suffer from back pain. This article from the BBC has some great diagrams of lumbar discs, showing what they have to endure during your golf swing.
Until next time, signing off.
Craig
