Monday Motivation - March 11th

Happy Monday everyone!

Straight into it today - time waits for no one, as they say... A dear friend of mine in Australia had a recent health scare and while he was reflecting on life over a weekend newspaper he came across this beautiful piece by Michael Leunig. It starts, "It is said that before the age of 30 you have the face that God gives you, and after 30 you have the face that you give to yourself." It's a lovely reminder that life is full of twists and turns and a certain degree of uncertainty – how we adapt and embrace what comes our way is ultimately how we experience life. (It's a short, easy read.)

I recently had my annual viewing of one of my favourite movies, About Time. It's another wonderful reminder that we generally have a greater ability to choose how we live than we often think we do – and that a full, rich life is made up of lots of small moments. It really is a great watch.

A full, rich life is unlikely to be found while on a smart phone...  Enter the Digital Detox Phone, sooooo good!!

Fancy some new skills to be a better human? Thought so. Here are five valuable skills you can develop for free. Time for an upgrade!

Kelly Slater: even non-surfing folk usually know the name. For those who don’t, he and his American contemporaries basically took over world surfing when they were at their peak. Momentum Generation is an amazing documentary about the friendships of a bunch of young men and how they spawned a new wave of surfing. It follows them as some realise their dreams, and others come to terms with falling short. It's a beautifully put-together movie that will put you in a “beachy” kind of mood!

Have a great week!
