Mindful Monday - November 16th
Hello, good morning and salutations to you all!
How are you? Are you doing ok? Could you maybe be a bit more awesome? Get a dash more sleep? Or move a tad more regularly?
Well, this could be your week to make a stand and set the wheels in motion for a fab winter routine. There’s still time.
Get the pen and paper out, make a list (check it twice) of all the things you’d like to make a move on before the year’s out.
Pick your top three and write down the first three steps for each one.
Put the first step for each one in your diary for this week.
There you go. A big finish coming up!
Think this year on Earth has been a bit hellish?
I hear you, but it could have been a lot worse. Scientists have discovered a planet (K2-141B to be precise) that has oceans of lava, wind that’s basically supersonic and it rains... rocks. It. Rains. Rocks. How’s that grass looking now? Smile.
Christmas
There, I said it. Christmas means a lot of different things to different people, but it usually involves presents. For those of you looking for gifts for young minds, these science projects in boxes are great. Just set the age of the well-behaved youngster, pick a plan and a box of science fun arrives on their doorstep or down a chimney.
Warning: contains traces of nuts
I should hope so – ManiLife may just be turning out the best peanut butter I've ever had. Creamy, crunchy, regular and deep roast, these guys have it seriously dialled in. Get your taster pack here (if in stock!) or simply dive in and order here or grab it in store. Oh yeah, they also help you eat it with these pretty great recipes.
More sleep = more awesome YOU
But don't just take it from me, Dr Zach Bush has spent a large chunk of his expansive career researching sleep and shares that "studies have estimated by 40 years of age we have accumulated a 20,000 hour sleep deficit".
Twenty thousand hours. Feels about right.

In the meantime, try these:
- Avoid big meals and alcohol close to bedtime
- Ditch the screen time well before lights out- Veto caffeine after 3pm
- Share some things you're grateful for with your family
- Read a book
Night night...
And finally... this remains a very strange time and with the commonly imposed end-of-year pressures it's easy to get overwhelmed. So, let me just say this: you're doing great. Yep, maybe you could do better, but so could we all. Of course, we're primarily here to help you with your spine and nervous system's health and function, but we do love a chat. So please reach out if you need anything else.
We love you all and never take the trust you place in us for granted. Thank you.
Rock on (not the raining rocks...)!
